Car Crash
By: Shreya
Have you ever experienced a car crash or seen one? Maybe even hear about one?
I have just recently seen one. I was in a car with Auboni and her driver. We were in a traffic jam and late for soccer practice. Suddenly, I saw a car WHOOSH by. It was pretty fast. I didn’t really see what really happened until we moved forward. There was a man lying down as if he were playing dead. I think he was an old man knocked off his wheelchair. I couldn’t really see the details. There were also some people surrounding him trying to carry him up. I couldn’t see the rest because by that time the traffic cleared out and a car behind was blocking my view.
Now that was not the only accident that I know of. My cousin had gotten in a car crash to. They were driving to Lake Tahoe with their friends and their car skid on the icy road, but that was not it. Their soon car flipped over two times and landed over upside down. My cousin neck was bleeding because the seatbelt strap bruised. Her friend had a few bruises, but her mom was hurt real bad. She was in the hospital for a week or so.
Now that I’ve told you about my experience, share with us yours! If you’ve never experienced one, tell us how we could avoid these accidents!

Halloween
Halloween is coming up! Are you going trick-or-treating? I am! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I like it because I get candy. We don't eat any special foods or anything but I still think it's really fun. Sometimes, my brother, sister, and I trade our candy. One time, my brother gave all his candy to me and my sister but he only traded them for lollipops. At the end when we counted his lollipops, he had about 50 of them. Do you have a favorite holiday? If you do, do you do you have any special foods you like to eat? What about clothes? Do you have any special clothes you like to wear for the costume?

Volleyball
By: Rakhi
I love volleyball. I have only played since I was eight but it's really fun. There are many things to it so if you don't know how to play a certain position, you can play a different position. You can block, serve, set and lots of other things. I started playing because my sister was playing it. When she had games, my dad and I would pass the ball to each other and I got motivated to play myself. My favorite position is server. I like to spike, set, hit, and serve. Spiking is standing right at the net and then jumping and pushing the ball down so it will go on to the other persons side. If you hit it correctly, it will go on the floor and you will get a point. Do you play volleyball or have you ever watched a volleyball game? If you don't, will you like to start playing? I hope you will after reading my post!!

Hobbies
By: Sabrina
Hey! Do you have a hobby? I have a few. I love to draw. I go to drawing class on Saturday mornings. I usually draw cartoon characters. Sometimes I try to copy some comic characters from comic books. I am trying to master oil painting. To me, painting is fun because I get messy and I like to try harder types of art. I also love to play in the fresh air. During the summer, I would go to the park every single day and ride my bike. Another hobby I have is cooking pastry and desserts. So do you have a fun hobby? What is it?

Play Performance
By:Jeffrey Our play performance Vacation To Mars is coming up! I am looking forward to the play very much. Over the last few years, I have gotten medium parts in the plays except in 3rd grade. In kindergarten, our village did The Three Little Pigs. I was one of the brick sellers. Portal doesn't do that play anymore but Mrs. Mains (our old principal) said that she liked that play a lot. My part was one of the brick sellers who would sell bricks to the pigs. In 1st grade, our village did Aesop's Fables and I was a storyteller. In 2nd grade, all of the 2th graders did Penguins on Broadway and I was a singing in the rain dude. In 3rd grade, our village did Character Matters and I was the Giant in Jack and the Beanstalk. I had to stand on a chair and the teachers had painted some long green pants on cardboard. It perfectly fit. Last year, we did CALIFORNIA MISSIONS AND MORE. If you 5th graders don't remember, I was Administrator #2 and John Sutter in the second dress rehearsal. If you 4th graders want to know why I was Sutter, Shivani (the real Sutter) was sick that day so I backed up for her. This year, we are doing Vacation on Mars. What will happen this year? Will our play be as good as last year? Will we get good parts? We will never know what will happen. We just know that this year, the final play performance for the 5th graders and second-last for the 4th graders is coming up on December 10th, 2009.What part did you get? What part did you want before you got your part? What was your favorite play that you did before?
